Welcome to Luna's Safe Moving

Luna's Safe Moving is THE go to service if you need a safe moved. We can move safes that weigh up to 5k lbs.  We invest in the best safe moving equipment that exist. There isn't a one tool moves all piece of equipment. Moving a safe requires multiple pieces of equipment since safes vary in weight and each location presents a new challenge each and every time.

We move gun safes, jewelry safes, burglary safes, fire retardant file cabinets, antique safes, media safes & more. Our teams come equipped with a winch, low profile trailer, tandem hydraulic dollies, vertical self reclining hand trucks, pallet jacks, 5klbs capacity lever bars & other smaller safe moing tools. We also offer bolt down services.

If you need a safe removed due to damage or if you just want to free up space, contact us and we will schedule a removal. We offer FREE safe removal service if the safe is in decent condition and functional. To find out if you qualify for a free safe removal just contact us and we will take a look and see if your safe qualifies for free removal.

How to move a safe

Moving a gun safe. Safe Movers

Luna's Safe Moving comes prepared with the right tools. Here we see the hydraulic dolly in action. The safe has been fully covered in our extra large safe moving blanket. The two hydraulic dollies work hand in hand by lifting the large safe up from each end and kept together by a heavy duty strap at the bottom.

Many generic (household) movers come with an appliance dolly that will either not support the weight of the safe or (if the job does continue) put the mover at high risk of injury. We've seen it all. Many times movers improvise and use furniture/appliance moving equipment that isn't rated for such a heavy item. Does the job get done? Sometimes. When it does, the mover will feel pain the next day and your safe might have a few scratches/chips on the paint/finish. Not to mention your floors, walls or thresholds might have also suffered some damage.

Using ramps to move a safe

There are quite a few options whenever stairs are involved. Ramps are one of them (and usually the go to solution). We care a variety of ramps on board. Some are fiberglass, some are aluminum, some are long, some are short, some split into two etc.... Every location presents a new set of challengers for us. When we arrive to a location we assess each situation and then determine which ramp to use.

It is important that each of our movers know the weight capacity of each dolly, trailer and ramps. It is also important that you know the weight of your safe so that we can work around that. In some cases a safe is too old and does not have any info on it. We carry a scale with us and can weight the safe for you. At this point, our friendly rep would have already provided you with a quote and pricing range pending confirmation of your safes weight.

Moving an 1800lbs Gun Safe

This gun safe arrived on a pallet. The customer sold the house and had us remove it and store it for him. Here we see our team remove the safe from the pallet and properly wrap it in moving blankets. The best option here was to use the tandem hydraulic dolly. This dolly requires two people to operate and has a combined lifting capacity of 3,960lbs.

Although this is a heavy safe, it is still only HALF the weight that this dolly can handle. We then utilized our winch to pull it onto the trailer. Once loaded, we use E-Tracks to properly secure the safe.

Floor Protection

Hey! Safes are heavy! Not a surprise. What might be surprising however is the fact that not all floors can handle all safes without some sort of protective cover/padding/plate. Wood can be the trickiest of all. It might feel solid due to its coating, but crack under a 100lbs safe. It might have termite damage, it might be thin etc...

Depending on the flooring, safe and dolly being used, we will determine the proper floor protection. Some safes travel on dollies that are 2, 4 or 6 wheels. More wheels = more weight distribution. We use metal sheets, aluminum sheets or plywood sheets depending on the type of safe, floors etc....

Luna's Safe Movers In Action

If you've searched for safe movers online you will find a few problems. 1. They have outdated websites. Why does this matter? Because if they don't take the time to keep customers updated with todays new equipment, updated images, user friendly site (and mobile app site) it is safe to assume that their work will reflect that. 2. You will see that they use outdated images and even use stock images that have been shared and used by their local and definitely national competitors. We do not take shortcusts. We take images on the job. In fact, we have seen our images on our competitors websites! Unfortunately this means that they will have to deliver and provide the level of service that they claim they provide.
